EMVCo is the body that defines and tests the EMV® protocol for chip cards.
The name EMVCo was originally an abbreviation for its three founding members: Europay, Mastercard and Visa.
(As at July 2019 EMVCo had six members: American Express, Discover, JCB, Mastercard, UnionPay and Visa.)
