Payments - Europe - instant payments - cards.
(EPI).
The European Payments Initiative was founded in 2020 to create a new pan-European payment solution incorporating Instant Payments and cards.
- Take steps to accommodate EPI
- "For many years, the EU has been keen to see a pan-European acceptance network that can compete with Visa and Mastercard.
- In 2022, it is anticipated that the European Payments Initiative will become operational.
- While it is hoped that the new network will sit alongside the existing organisations, businesses will need to make sure they have taken steps to accommodate this new entrant."
