Universal basic income

(UBI).

Proposals for a basic income to be delivered in the form of unconditional periodic cash payments to all individuals, without means-testing or work requirements.

A wide variety of basic income proposals are circulating, differing in many respects including:

• The amounts of the basic income;
• Sources of funding; and
• The nature and size of reductions in other transfers that might accompany it.
