1. European Union (EU) - Regulations - retained EU law.

Designating a domestic UK version of a Regulation - for example the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - originally derived from an EU Regulation, in this case the GDPR.

Depending where they do business, organisations may need to comply with both the domestic UK version and the EU Regulation.


2. Adjective.

Designating anything that relates to the UK, for example UK Export Finance or UK GAAP (generally accepted accounting practice).


3. Noun.

Used to denote the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
