Accounting for the effects of changes in foreign exchange rates.
Non-monetary items include property, plant, equity investments, stock (inventory) and similar assets and liabilities.
Under IAS 21, non-monetary items are translated at their historical foreign exchange rates, or the rate which applied when any subsequent fair valuation was undertaken.
