Payments Council

A former UK membership organisation responsible for ensuring that payment services work for all who use them. It set a strategy for UK payments including the National Payments Plan which looked at how payments could be improved and enhanced.

The Payments Council set up the Paym scheme which uses mobile phones to send and receive payments.

Superseded by Payments UK.
