(Retail CBDC or rCBDC).

A CBDC is a digital currency issued and administered by a central bank.

A retail CBDC is one that can be accessed and used by the public.

Contrasted with wholesale central bank digital currencies (wCBDCs) that can only be accessed by financial institutions.
