COMESA is the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa.
COMESA is established to promote economic prosperity, peace and security through regional integration.
It was founded in 1994 as a successor to the former Preferential Trade Area (PTA) for the region.
COMESA currently has 21 member states.
